This photo shows the client is focusing on relaxing, he knows that is how he will bond with Winston. Winston can be a little overwhelming as he is very big, therefore, the client has to master his breathing to stay relaxed or else Winston will move away. Winston staying next to our client is totally dependent on our clients ability to stay calm and look how well he is doing, there are no ropes holding him there! This client is one of our many teenagers who participate in the Equine Learning Programme and bloom. The client in the picture started coming to us when he was half way through his first year at high school and was struggling, he is now in year 8 and doing amazingly! We are so proud, so proud that when his funding was low we made sure he could still continue. There are so many great stories I could tell about all our clients...watching their confidence grow from not being able to touch the horses to being free in the round pens with them, the peacefulness we witness as our young people hangout with the horses and relaxed sitting quietly as the horses move around them.A school group accompanied was by a teacher, who commented on how one of the young people in the group did more work in one of our equine learning sessions than he had done all term at school! There's a message there...we need to make sure we keep on doing what were doing! On that note our application to become an Incorporated Association went in this week, we are super excited and fingers crossed.Term 2 is filling up our Wednesday and Thursday group sessions, which are full. Give me a call to discuss group or individual sessions.
